| Information for R50 and R39 Reflector spotlight bulbs: Incandescent light bulbs give off a warm cozy color where as halogen bulbs give off a much whiter color light.
These reflector shape bulbs are usually used as floods & spots for track lighting & recessed lights.
Incandescent light bulbs are usually sold by the bulbs wattage, this is a measurement of the power that the bulb uses, and not the brightness. Many things may affect the brightness of the bulb including; the designed vs. applied voltage, the filament type, and the rated life of the bulb. The total amount of light a bulb creates is measured in lumens, and the amount of light that is received on a surface (your desk top) is measured in footcandles. One FC equals the amount of light received from one candle one foot away.
The rated life for most incandescent light bulbs are usually between 750 to 6,000 hours, the normal "A" bulb is 1,000 hours, and the normal "R" bulb is 2,000 hours.
